Lake Sherwood Project Part III: Dining Room

The reveal of our Lake Sherwood Project has been such a fun process. Thank you so much for all the kind comments and DMs. In case you missed it, we revealed the casual, boho entry + den in Part I. In Part II, we shared the dreamy warm coastal living room design that mixed lots of textiles and finally found a way to visually balance out a large flatscreen TV. You can also catch the full project over on My Domaine!
What we loved so much about this project was the client’s willingness to trust us completely - and go bold. The use of color, textures, and finishes bring all our favorite interior design styles together. The space feels modern, boho, coastal and transitional all at the same time.

In the dining room, we wanted to make a bold statement without feeling too formal. The modern, geometric chandelier (also available in black) is easily the focal point of the room. The brass finish adds a little bit of sparkle that we balanced in the curtain rods with these Belgian linen drapes. The beautiful dining chairs are a deep, inky gray velvet feel so luxurious while still being timeless. We warmed up the space with natural wood tones with contemporary lines. The weight of the dining table (similar) and credenza (smaller version here) add an edge of masculinity to prevent the space from feeling too glam.

The wallpaper (similar + similar) though, is the real star of this space. The hand painted pattern adds the boho touch that flows through the rest of the space, and the white millwork help keep the formality of the dining room. Anchoring the room, this oversized rug is a favorite of ours (do you recognize it in our Friday Favorites two weeks ago?). The saturated hues are perfectly faded away, making the spacious area rug a true neutral.

To finish off the modern, boho dining room, we added a little bar cart for evening cocktails. It’s the perfect corner to give a little extra sparkle while adding incredible function. Across the room, the oversized round mirror is such a classic piece - it could easily find a home anywhere around your house.
