Guest Bedroom: Beach to the Burbs

It’s hard to believe we’re already in the final installment of our Beach to ‘Burbs project, but I promise we saved one of the best reveals for last. It’s a space that combines just the right mix of patterns, textures, and color play for a guest room retreat that feels perfectly cozy yet effortlessly cool.

For this space, we took a moodier approach to our color palette and incorporated all the necessary pieces to put any guest at ease. More than anything, we wanted to make this the room where friends and family can exhale, recharge, and feel immediately at home.

Our design work started by sourcing a colorful vintage-inspired rug that brought an instant sense of character to our blank canvas. We fell in love with the range of color tones it brought into the space and how well it worked along with our upholstered bed selection. We had some extra fun with textiles by adding large patterned pillows in a variety of hues for an overall interesting and layered look.

Over the years, I’ve learned the most inviting guest rooms always include ample storage options for bags, plenty of table space for personal belongings, and gorgeous bed linens that feel both super luxurious and insanely comfortable. We brought in each one of those elements to our guest room, ensuring our clients’ visitors always feel right at home. To finish off the space, we added white linen draperies that worked to brighten up the room while also blocking out light and offering privacy and for guests to relax.

We’ve absolutely loved having you along for our Beach to ‘Burbs house tour, and sharing both the big and small moments that went into this redesign project.
