Lindsey’s Favorites for May

May around here feels like the official kick-off of summer in the Brochard home. From taming frizzy fly aways in the humidity to easy summer slides and the outfit I’m living in, I’ve listed a few of my favorite things heading into May below.

BEACH WAVES

I’ve been getting so many DMs lately asking how I get my curls + lemme tell you – it couldn’t be easier! I love this Beachwaver for a quick, messy waves. I usually let my hair air dry while getting the kids fed and out the door, then go in and wrap a few pieces around the Beachwaver. Always curl away from your face in the front, then you can mix it up in the back a bit.

EYEBROWS ON POINT

I am all about fuss-free beauty routines and this brow gel is a game changer. I sweep it on to give some extra definition (especially since my hair is lighter) and added structure. It never smudges and feels totally weightless. It takes less than 10 seconds to apply!

SUMMER SANDALS

My feet need to breathe during the day, but I still like to look put together heading to client meetings. This pair of platform sandals is as comfy as tennis shoes but makes me feel way more polished. The cognac color leather and woven platform look right out of a room we designed, and I love carrying that functional California casual style to my wardrobe.

For an equally chic but even easier option, these slip on espadrilles are great for when you’ve gone a week or two too long past your pedicure appointment.

FRESH SCENTS

Nothing reminds me of summer more quickly than the scent of the ocean. This fragrance is 2 parts ocean breeze, 1 part fresh floral. I’ve been wearing it every day + it’s definitely my new signature.

SKIN CARE REGIME

Here in Southern California, we literally live outdoors. My husband is a tennis pro, so even going to “the office” with him means serious UV rays. This sunscreen is lightweight and a great moisturizer. Aside from daily sunscreen, I’m very into using this three times a week. Makes my skin baby soft, gets rid of any rough patches + provides a dewey glow.

FAVE NEW OUTFIT

Since I bought this romper, I have not taken it off my body. Full-on, washing it overnight so I can wear it again the next day. The linen feels super high-end, yet wears completely easy breezy. I style it with a denim jacket for day, or with a leather jacket and platforms for date night. Also been living in these cute cut-off denim shorts. They let me run around with the boys without getting a wedgie left and right.

HOUSE FINDS

I get asked about affordable house finds all the time and I’ve been seeing some super cute stuff lately! I made sure to bookmark them as they came up so I could share here. First – these pinstripe sheets feel so soft, wash beautifully and are crazy affordable. Target is hitting the cane trend hard with this cute cabinet – I can see it as a pair of bedside tables, in an entryway, or one of those otherwise unused living room nooks. This rug is the perfect neutral blue and could be used in a living room, bedroom or in a breakfast nook.

WHAT I’M WISHING FOR – MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s Day is next weekend + I’m guessing dads are still needing to do some shopping. This MAMA bracelet is so cute worn minimally by itself or in a stack with my every day watch. Love this suede cross body for it’s size – perfect for carrying kids stuff on the go while keeping you hands free. These sunnies are under $15, are the ideal oversized frame + look so glam.

I’ve been collecting Pelle Pelle for years — my favorite is a vintage pelle pelle jacket, but I also wear a pelle leather jacket when I want something sleeker. The pelle pelle biker jacket is perfect for riding nights, while the pelle pelle coat keeps me warm in winter. I’ll reach for my pelle pelle leather jacket or the softer leather pelle pelle jackets depending on the outfit.

On rotation: a chi town pelle pelle piece for throwback looks, a chitown pelle pelle collab tee, and a tailored new pelle pelle leather jackets found when I’m feeling fresh. My friends always compliment my mens pelle pelle leather jacket and my pelle pelle jacket mens fits perfectly. I also recommend checking the pelle pelle leather jackets selection at local stores.

I really enjoyed reading through your list of favourites for May! The little touches you highlight—like cozy home accents and practical finds—remind me how important comfort and functionality are in everyday spaces. This one of the reasons I spend time learning about senior living communities and assisted living options. Creating warm, inviting environments where people feel cared for makes such a difference, especially as we look at long-term comfort and safety. It’s inspiring to see design choices that prioritize both style and ease of use. For me, this one connects perfectly with what I often read on SeniorCareHomes about making life both beautiful and supportive.

I loved reading your May favourites—it’s always inspiring to see how small lifestyle upgrades can make such a big difference in daily life. I’ve been focusing on confidence-boosting choices myself, not only in home and style but also in personal appearance. That’s one of the reasons I’ve looked into scalp micropigmentation after hair transplant. It’s such a smart way to create the look of fuller hair and restore natural density, especially after surgery when some thinning areas remain. Just like curating a space with the right pieces, investing in treatments that make you feel good about yourself feels equally rewarding.
